Chinese Economic Development Zone Awards Odell, Simms & Associates, Inc. Investment Promotion Contract

Odell, Simms & Associates, Inc. (OSA) announced that it has been awarded an investment promotion contract with the municipal government of Chongqing, China. The resulting partnership will promote investment opportunities for North American businesses in the manufacturing industry wishing to invest in China.

As the North American office for the municipal government of Chongqing, China, OSA will provide free and confidential services to companies in several manufacturing sectors, including the machinery, automotive and motorcycle, chemical, steel and aluminum industries seeking to enter the Chinese market. OSA will assist these companies in their due-diligence process and provide networking opportunities with top-level government officials and relevant Chongqing companies.

Chongqing is a municipality with a population of 31 million, situated in Western China along the Yangtze River. Due to its strategic location in the heart of China, Chongqing is the recipient of substantial support from the central government to fund its efforts to promote international investment into the municipality. This funding is aimed at expediting the development of Chongqing through infrastructure improvements and foreign direct investment campaigns.

Chongqing, one of only four municipalities directly under the central government, is the largest metropolis on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and the largest industrial and commercial center in southwest China. The city has strong communication capabilities, a sound economic foundation and provides access to highly educated personnel. It is the only city in western China that has direct access to the gold waterway--the Yangtze River. Located in the Three Gorges Dam area, the city enjoys the special advantage brought about by the development of the dam area. The infrastructure surrounding the dam provides an essential link between eastern and western China. On the axis of potential economic development, Chongqing plays an essential role in connecting the west with the east and offers investors a stable supply of crucial natural resources.
